There’s some huge news for Maccies lovers all over the nation – yes, it’s finally happening.
One of the most beloved burgers ever made by the American fast-food chain will make its triumphant return later this month, amid relentless calls for it to be brought back.
It’s one for the 80s kids, as it took the world by storm a few decades ago, and since its introduction in 1981, some fans have tracked its rare appearances in chains worldwide.
But it’s finally time.

Let’s stop beating around the bush – brace yourselves McDonald’s fans, because it’s time to re-introduce the one and only McRib, almost a decade after its last appearance in the UK.
We all remember its tender pork patty, shaped like ribs and smothered in BBQ sauce, accompanied with onions, pickles and a toasted bun. Getting very hungry just thinking about it.
It was originally discontinued in 1985, though it has made several returns in the years since, though it was last sold in chains back in 2015.
Now, nine years on, you’ll be able to get your hands on the tasty pork burger on its own for £4.49, or for £6.19, you can get it as part of a medium extra value meal, and it will be available for a limited time from 16 October.
The Head of Menu at McDonald’s UK, Thomas O’Neill, said: “It is more than just a sandwich, it’s a phenomenon. We have heard our fans loud and clear – the fan petitions and pleas on social – and after almost a decade of anticipation, we are thrilled to bring back this iconic menu item.
“Knowing how well-loved the McRib is, we had very little choice – we had to make it happen. It was time to step up and satisfy the cravings of McRib enthusiasts across the country,” he boldly stated.

The news comes after some drama started among those with the McDonald’s app, who got odd messages hinting to the return of the McRib.
Fans shared screenshots on social media as they were sent a message on their phone screen, which said: “McRib_Test.notification_16.10.24 [TEST]”.
Other users claimed to see an error image notification in the app, alone with the McRib name and the launch date of 16 October.
It’s huge news, and it comes after the chain’s move last month to introduce the limited edition Grimace Shake, which like the McRib, comes on a first-come, first-served basis.
The purple shakes sold out across the UK in days, as they were available from August 28 to September 3, only.

With summer coming to an end, you’ll no doubt want to end the season with a bang, which is why we’ve sought out some of the best ways to see out the last week or two of summer with your mates.
So, if you’re looking for somewhere to go other than your local or a fancy bar in town, hopefully our top picks should give you plenty of inspiration.
1. Try out Bongo’s Bingo
Bongo’s Bingo
Operating up and down the country, Bongo’s Bingo is always a fun night out. And they’re running some Country Specials to close out summer this year. So, grab your cowboy hat and get ready for dance offs, cheesy singalongs, a rave, as well as the usual hilarity that the bingo games entail.
2. Hit up an arcade bar
NQ64
Arcade bars are still all the rage, with lots all over the UK and it’s a great way to spend a night out. Why not challenge your pals to a game of Mortal Kombat or Guitar Hero or simply while away the hours trying to make it onto the arcade’s leaderboards. And unlike your typical arcade, you can keep the alcohol flowing all night long.
3. Take part in an escape room like no other
AIM Escape
If you happen to be in London, we’ve found an escape room like no other and it’s a great one to do in the run up to Halloween. This 18+ game is one of the most difficult and according to the website “Can your team survive a stay at the horror hotel? Check out is in an hour, if you stay longer you stay forever…” We’d certainly be up for giving it a go.
4. Have a laugh at a comedy club
There are plenty of comedy nights to give you and the lads a laugh, with up and coming and big name comedians taking to smaller stages to test out their material. So, if you find yourself watching reruns of Live At The Apollo or Mock The Week, we would definitely recommend seeing who is performing in the nearest city or town to you.
5. Visit Flight Club
Flight Club Darts
If you’re after a bit of a slower pace, particularly if you have work the next morning, why not challenge one another to a game of darts? Flight Club has a number of venues up and down the UK and each oche area can hold up to 12 players. Plus, you can get food – including pizzas, fries and sharing plates – as well as drinks delivered straight to you.
6. Plan a pub crawl
There are now a number of companies who plan out the best pub or bar crawls, allowing you to drink your way around your city. Alternatively, you could plan your own. And if you happen to live in or near a big city like London or Glasgow, why not try stopping off at each subway station and heading to the nearest pub or bar. You never know, you might find a new local or place to gather with the lads.
Which of these nights out would you most want to head to with your mates?

It’s that time of year when McDonald’s announces its new spring menu – and this one looks epic.
There’s some much-loved favourites on the menu – including the return of a legendary burger – and a brand new item.
The fast food giant is set to launch a total of seven new items in the next couple of weeks, with the new menu dropping on 17 April, so we’ve not got too long to wait.
In what will seriously excite Lotus Biscoff fans, Maccies customers will soon be able to get their hands on a brand new Lotus Biscoff Frappe.
And the Biscoff news doesn’t stop there.
The much-loved biccy will also be turned into a McFlurry, featuring crunchy Biscoff crumb swirled onto the soft serve ice cream we know and love.
If savoury is more your thing, say hello to the Cheese and Herb Melts. Blended with mozzarella and Emmental cheese, the delectable snacks are served with a rich tomato dip.
Also returning to the menu is the Chicken Big Mac and the Quarter Pounder Deluxe, which you can make double with an extra patty.
McDonald’s
Galaxy chocolate will also feature on the new menu, with the Galaxy Caramel Pie and the Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry also making a comeback.
Beware, the menu is limited edition so if you want to try these items it’s worth remembering they’ll only be around for six weeks.
You can find the full list of additions and prices below:
- Biscoff McFlurry – £1.99
- Biscoff McFlurry mini – £1.59
- Galaxy Caramel Pie – £1.99
- Biscoff Frappe – £2.99
- Galaxy Caramel McFlurry – £1.99
- Galaxy Caramel Mini McFlurry – £1.59
- Quarter Pounder Deluxe – £4.89
- Quarter Deluxe Medium Meal – £6.59
- Chicken Big Mac – £4.69
- Chicken Big Mac Meal – £6.49
- Cheese & Herb Melts – £2.89
- Cheese & Herb Melts Sharebox – £7.09

As well as adding new items, Maccies is also launching a special breakfast deal.
They explain: “Say goodbye to those breakfast blues and hello to the ultimate meal offer to start your day!
“From 17th April for three weeks only, McDonald’s customers can purchase a single Sausage & Egg or an Egg McMuffin and a regular hot drink, soft drink, or bottled drink (excludes Toffee Latte, McCafe Iced drinks and Milkshakes) for £2.79 – now beat that!”
As always, with brand new menu items set to drop, McDonald’s has had to remove some items, too.
The McCrispy Deluxe, as well as the Halloumi Fries and Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry will all be leaving the menu to make space for the newbies.

Customer feedback is everything, even for a huge conglomerate like McDonald’s.
So when the decision makers at the fast food giant click onto the fact that diners are desperate for one particular item to make a comeback, don’t be too surprised when you see it on the menu.
Don’t you remember what happened with the Breakfast Wrap?
But to keep people on their toes, the restaurant with the Golden Arches is only bringing back one of it’s extremely popular burgers for the next six weeks – so you better be quick.
As part of it’s menu shakeup this month, McDonald’s are resurrecting some of it’s most beloved snacks.
From today (17 April), foodies can get their hands on seven limited edition items at their local branch.
First up is one for the Lotus Biscoff fans – as there is both a Frappe and a McFlurry flavoured with the crunchy caramelised biscuits which have us all in a chokehold to chose from.
Between my brew and biccies rituals and those two treats, there’s no doubt I’ll start resembling a Lotus Biscoff by the time they are taken off the menu.
Moving onto the new selection of savoury bits, Brits will be happy to hear that they can grab some Cheese and Herb Melts for just a few quid.

Prepare to slip into a food coma as you tuck into the delicious blend of mozzarella and Emmental cheese, which are accompanied by a rich tomato dip – and you can follow this up with the iconic Quarter Pounder Deluxe.
You can make the bigger and better version of the classic burger a double too by adding an extra patty too, so you’ll certainly leave McDonald’s with a full belly and a smile on your face.
After polishing all that lot off, you might even find that you have room to squeeze in one of the Galaxy desserts which are making a return to the menu.
You can grab a Galaxy Caramel Pie, which first joined the club last December, or the Galaxy Chocolate McFlurry. Yum.
But what is the ridiculously popular item which you’re might find yourself having to engage in a Hunger Games style battle for at your local McDonald’s?
It’s obvious really – as only the Chicken Big Mac could get people in the UK so worked up.
The Chicken Big Mac has made an epic comeback (McDonald’s)
They’ve been an immediate sell out every time McDonald’s has satisfied our cravings for the burger, so let’s hope it’s fourth time lucky and you can get your hands on one.
Do bare in mind that I’m not even exaggerating – as the slogan for the burger’s epic comeback is: “Don’t regret it. Get it.
“Chicken Big Mac disappears 9 May.”
First debuting in 2022, it is obviously inspired by the fast food chain’s signature dish, the Big Mac.
Rather than a beef patty, the chicken version features…chicken.
Cheese, lettuce, pickles and Big Mac sauce are then slathered on the triple-layered bun to create a McDonald’s masterpiece, which customers have been dreaming about for longer than they can count.
You can treat yourself to a sole Chicken Big Mac for just £4.69, or you can splash a few quid more and go the full shebang while making it a meal for £6.49.
But as you are probably aware, all these newbies muscling onto the McDonald’s menu means that it needed to make some room – so we’re saying a sad goodbye to some fan favourites.
The McCrispy Deluxe, as well as the Halloumi Fries and the Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry will all be leaving…but you never know when they might be back.
You can find the full list of the new McDonald’s additions and prices below:

A recently added, never-seen-before burger is being dropped from the McDonald’s menu tomorrow (16 July).
Yep, just when you might have already started planning your cheeky end of the week takeaway, the Maccies menu is about to change.
The popular fast-food chain will be celebrating it’s 50th birthday in the UK this month, with a brand new dessert item hitting the menu as well as special McFlurries, the return of popular burgers and special cheese dippers.
So with this new menu landing in McDonald’s restaurants on Wednesday, it means it’s bye-bye to the special Euro 2024-inspired burger.
I mean, after last night’s defeat to Spain, you might never want to eat the special football-themed meal anyway. A bitterly tasty reminder of what could have been for the Three Lions.
The Hat Trick is leaving. (McDonald’s)
Maccies launched ‘The Hat Trick’ at the end of the May, just in time for people to scran it for the footie. In case you’ve not yet tried it, the burger features three beef patties, two slices of cheese, grilled onions, mustard and ketchup sandwiched between a glazed sesame seed bun.
Still available until tomorrow, the burger is priced at £5.89 on its own and at £7.69 as a medium meal. ‘The Hat Trick’ was also joined by Mozzarella bites on the menu, along with Skittles and Galaxy Caramel McFlurries.
However, they’ll all be removed after tomorrow to make way for the special birthday menu on Wednesday.
So, don’t start getting too upset about the loss of the footie burger yet, as it’s the return of the Mac! The big, Big Mac.
Oh, yes. The Double Big Mac® and Double Big Mac® with Bacon are both rejoining the menu this week with their whopping four 100 percent beef patties.
The McCrispy BBQ Smokehouse is returning. (McDonald’s)
Those fan-favourites are priced at £5.39 and £6.19 or as meals for £7.19 and £8.09.
Plus, making its first reappearance at Maccies in around nine months, the McCrispy® BBQ Smokehouse is coming back.
Consisting of a crispy coated 100 percent chicken breast fillet, smoky BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, red onion and lettuce, that’s priced at £5.59 or £7.49 as a meal.
Plus, there’s going to be a Birthday Cake Donut as the ‘star of the show’ for this special McDonald’s 50th birthday menu. A classic doughnut ring shape, it features a strawberry flavoured filling with buttercream-flavoured icing and colourful sprinkles.
Priced at £1.99, McDonald’s will donate 20p from every Birthday Cake Donut sold to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK.
Hello, old friends.
